How to Draw a Goose?
Here’s a step by step process on how to draw a goose.
Note: This is a digital drawing which I have made on Ibis Paint X. However you can replicate this drawing in any app or paper as well.
Step 1: Draw the Basic Shapes
Begin with a large, slightly tilted oval to form the gooseโs body. Above it, draw a smaller circle for the head. Connect the head and body with a long, gently curved line to establish the neck. Keep these construction lines simple and light so the proportions are easy to adjust.

Step 2: Shape the Head, Neck, and Body
Refine the basic shapes into the gooseโs recognizable silhouette. Smoothly connect the head to the long neck and blend the neck into the rounded body. Add a pointed beak extending from the face, a small eye, and a short pointed tail at the back of the body.

Step 3: Add the Wing
Draw a large curved shape along the side of the body to create the folded wing. Begin near the upper chest and sweep the line backward toward the tail. Add several small pointed curves at the wing tip to suggest overlapping flight feathers while keeping the overall design clean and simple.

Step 4: Draw the Legs and Webbed Feet
Add two short legs underneath the lower part of the body. Keep them fairly straight and evenly spaced. At the bottom of each leg, draw a wide webbed foot with three forward-pointing toes connected by curved lines. Make sure the feet appear balanced so the goose looks naturally supported.

Step 5: Add Feather Details
Create texture by adding rows of short, curved lines across the wing to represent layered feathers. Include a few light strokes along the neck, chest, and lower body for softer plumage. Keep the feather marks following the natural direction of the body rather than filling every area with unnecessary detail.

Step 6: Add Color and Final Shading
Finish the goose by coloring the beak, legs, and webbed feet orange. Leave the main feathers white while adding soft gray shading around the neck, belly, wing, and underside of the body. Darken the eye and reinforce selected outlines to create depth, giving the completed goose a polished appearance.
